Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention

Phoebe Miles is the co-founder of the Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention in Gainesville, Florida. The museum is named after Ms. Miles’ father, James Robert Cade, the lead inventor of Gatorade. Its mission is to transform communities by inspiring and equipping future inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Ms. Miles designed the Museum’s proprietary education curriculum, the Inventivity Framework, for lifelong STEM learning through the lens of invention. The framework’s teaching units, which are tied to Next Generation Science Standards, will be available to schools, libraries, and science centers across the country.

A native of Gainesville, Ms. Miles holds a B.A. in German and a B.A. in History from the University of Washington. Prior to starting the museum, she and her husband spent over a decade living and working overseas in Germany, Barbados, and Argentina. They live in Washington D.C. and have three adult children and three grandchildren.
